Always curious, Jenny has been asking questions of everyone and everything since birth. Her parents will tell you how she loved to explore every local dirt pile, pond and book she could access. In horseshoeing, she has found an outlet for her endless curiosity. Integrating new knowledge and experience comes naturally. Sharing this knowledge and experience with clients is her passion.
A well rounded farrier integrates education and experience into good business practices. Jenny graduated from the MN School of Horseshoeing in 2010 and began serving clients that summer. Her focus was continued education and apprenticeships through spring of 2017. Now she focuses on growing and managing her business Spiral Forge so she can share her passion with horses and people who need her.
An essential part of good craftsmanship is integrating shoe making and fitting skills into daily practice.
Lover of animals wild and tame since childhood, she began lessons at age 9 and continues to ride today. Hunter/Jumper, Eventing, Trail Riding, Saddleseat, bareback, she just loves to ride. She has driven some morgans and hackney ponies, and enjoyed that as well! It’s always fun to learn new things.
With variable environments, conformation, personalities and needs, farriery requires full engagement in the moment. Jenny is thrilled to have found a tangible career she can invest her creative efforts in. Every hoof presents a challenge and an opportunity for improvement. With countless interests, there’s always projects in the works. Her focus is on the clients, but there’s always something else going on. Working, forging, welding, making art with metal, paint or words, Jenny is always creating something. Time for camping and martial arts practice helps her return to work with renewed passion and focus.
